In 2021, thanks to the work of Conservation Volunteers Australia, our many partners and organisations, and our dedicated volunteers, the conservation status of the Eastern Barred Bandicoot was reclassified from Extinct in the Wild to Endangered. 

This groundbreaking achievement underscores the power of collective action, but the Eastern Barred Bandicoot is still at risk. 

We need to continue to nurture the grasslands back to life and continue to monitor the health of this endangered species.
