Beginning her journey with Conservation Volunteers Australia in 2016, Teresa is a skillful community engagement and conservation educator. Based in Sydney, NSW, she brings almost a decade of experience in delivering and managing a wide range of conservation programs across Australia. Ultimately, she aims to foster meaningful connections between people and nature.

Teresa is deeply fascinated by human behaviour and constantly seeks innovative ways to inspire communities to become environmental stewards. Whether it’s through delivering exciting volunteer opportunities, captivating storytelling, or creating strong networks of supporters, she strives to inspire change from the ground up.

Her professional toolkit is as diverse as the ecosystems and communities she works in. With tenacity, curiosity, and attention to detail, she tackles challenges head-on, pushing boundaries and driving results. She doesn’t just aim to get the job done; it’s about doing it effectively and efficiently, while leaving a lasting impact. Teresa was instrumental in the delivery of Conservation Volunteers Australia’s national #SeaToSource program, where from 2020-2023, she led a team of staff to engage tens of thousands of people and stakeholders to take action on marine plastics. Teresa now manages the Urban Shade Forest initiative – empowering thousands of Australians to increase the greenery within their cities and suburbs, creating cooler futures together.

Teresa has been driven by one fundamental mentality throughout her career: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” So, if you share her passion for conservation, community engagement, and collaboration (…and/or native plants!), get in touch.
